Magnetic, powdered activated carbon (MPAC) was used to assist ultrasound and UV irradiations for activation of H 2 O 2 as a heterogeneous catalyst to treat petrochemical wastewater rich in refractory organics and salinity (Kakavandi & Ahmadi, 2019). MPAC demonstrated high catalytic activity, stability, and reusability with a high COD removal.
